We had the pleasure of hosting our first Craft Beer Blogger last month and what a fun couple of days that was!  In case you didn't know, Mobile is quite the up-and-coming brewery scene as three breweries are either under construction or set to open soon. It's exciting times for our historic city that loves to celebrate!

It was a hot afternoon in June when Bryan Richards of  The Wandering Gourmand landed in Mobile from his home in Charlotte, NC.

When one of the first things out of his mouth made us laugh  - we knew this was going to be a fun couple of days with our new friend.

We set him up with the folks who are opening the three Mobile breweries -  Haint Blue Brewing Co., Serda's Brewing Co and Iron Hand Brewing for tours and interviews. We also drove across Mobile Bay to give him a taste of Fairhope Brewing Company.

When we weren't meeting with those fine folks,  we took him to our local craft beer establishments where visitors and locals alike hang out and drink cold brews.  Loda Bier Garten, Old Shell Growlers and The Haberdasher welcomed this beer lover {and his questions} with a bottomless mug.

In between his visits, he ate. And ate...and ate...and ate.

We make no secret that Mobile's food scene is downright delectable.  With Bryan's audience being craft beer enthusiasts,  we wanted to match the cuisine appropriately.

Bryan sank his teeth into burgers from LoDa Bier Garten and Callaghan's Irish Social Club, devoured a hot dog from Drew Drop Inn, destroyed beignets from Panini Pete's, chowed down on tacos and sushi from OK Bicycle Shop/Liquid Sushi and showed the Eggs Cathedral from Spot of Tea who was boss. We should also mention the moment of silence that occurred when he tasted the Corned Beef Hash that Tony cooks up at Bob's Downtown Diner.

It was a full couple of days for Bryan {pun intended} but he couldn't of been a better sport!

Since it was his first trip to Mobile, we had to make sure he saw more than just beer and food. {Not that Just beer and food is a bad thing} He road a duck boat with Gulf Coast Ducks, toured the Mobile Carnival Museum, popped into The Fort of Colonial Mobile and we took him on a drive throughout our historic districts.  We even did some excellent convincing that he should load up his family and move to Mobile!  {We'll keep you posted on that one.}

Bryan was super cool which made our week with him super cool.

He asked for the Mobile experience..... we think he got it!
