It's not just the holiday season in Mobile-- it's BOWL season!

This weekend kicks off a fun week of activities, parties and parades all in celebration of the Go Daddy Bowl!

This year's match-up is between the Georgia Southern University Eagles and the Bowling Green State University Falcons. The two teams will face off in the GoDaddy Bowl on Dec. 23 but not before proper celebrations take place!

How do you celebrate a bowl game in Mobile? With a street party and parade, of course!

It's time to practice for Mardi Gras season {that is just a little over a month away} with a Mobile Mardi Gras parade to be held in the streets of Downtown Mobile at 6:30 pm on December 22!

Sixteen Mardi Gras societies will hit the streets on floats with throws for the crowd!  Several local high school marching bands will join the parade, as well as the bands and cheerleaders from each participating Bowl team.

A huge crowd is expected to pack the streets of Downtown Mobile and you don't want to miss it!

Following the parade is a good, old-fashioned Mobile street party and pep rally at the Mobile Convention Center !

Be sure to join the fun and share your experiences on social media using the hashtags: #SoMobile, #VisitMobile and #BornToCelebrate

UPDATE: The parade has been cancelled due to weather. The pep rallies will be moved inside the Convention Center in Downtown Mobile. Georgia Southern will be in the North Exhibit Hall and Bowling Green in the South Exhibit Hall.
